Chief Specialist
•Identify problem areas and obstacles to effective and timely implementation of the Dubai Bus Master Plan.
•Identify problem areas in the organisational structures between Planning, Scheduling and Operations relative to service change processes.
•Review and assess current bus and crew scheduling practices, identify issues and improvement measures.
•Prepare comprehensive current resource scheduling issues report.
•Advise on best practice on timetable and crew scheduling and roster efficiency.
•Advise on field bus schedule data collection program during operations.
•Develop a structured resource-scheduling database including all generic aspects of scheduling.
•Monitor bus and crew schedule production efficiency and propose changes where necessary.
•Coordinate with Planning, Operations and Maintenance Departments.
•Develop all fixed routes scheduling procedures in a flexible and functional manner including Trip Building (creating timetable), Blocking (assignment of route), run-cutting (assignment of driver), and rostering (grouping daily to weekly schedule).
•Synchronize and link crew schedule with bus schedule and provide flexibility and change point possibility to respond to unexpected situations.
•Evaluate dynamic itinerary schemes to accommodate maintenance and scheduling program based on demand.
•Provide key information relative to resource changes and implementation of Bus Master Plan and allocation of resources to depots.
•Coordinate with rail agency to maintain scheduling in perfect synchronization with Metro schedules.
•Advise Planning and Business Department on demand led services and assist in creation of new service change process.
•Develop improvement initiatives through the help of other team members with the aim to ensure optimum bus and crew scheduling.
•Provide better understanding and insight into the feedback relationships that exist between components forming supply parameters of bus transit as well as affecting demand in Dubai.
•Produce a resource scheduling planning document that develops and recommends rules, practices, procedures, steps and policies to improve and achieve a sustainable bus operation system by RTA.
•Perform other responsibilities related to the position as appropriate.
