SAP Custom Development as a global organization delivers a full lifecycle of custom development services - from the strategic planning of a development project through delivery and maintenance of the solution. With development centers in Walldorf, St. Ingbert, Newtown Square, Bangalore, Shanghai, Palo Alto, Delhi, Tokyo and Sao Leopoldo (amongst others), we are able to leverage a global delivery model that utilizes the specific strengths of each location.

In order to further strengthen our growing business in MENA, we are looking for a CD Engagement Manager to extend our footprint in this region.



EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:

As a CD Engagement Manager you will significantly contribute to the SAP Custom Development revenue and profitability targets. While you will be assigned to the regional team of Custom Development, you will act as a (virtual) member of the MU team. Especially you will work together with the SAP Field Organization by maximizing and growing our business in your area of responsibility and by being responsible for taking actions to secure these targets.

  • Together with other CD Engagement Managers you are responsible for Revenue Budget and P&L for our Custom Development business in MENA.
  • Support the respective account teams in driving custom development opportunities.
  • Drive the entire CD engagement cycle through the sales phase and the delivery phase.
  • Establish, protect and cultivate relationships to the Market Unit Sales and Customers.
  • Pro-actively drive and negotiate business opportunities in MENA, primarily in UAE, in tight alignment with the MU Sales, Custom Development Sales, and the Consulting Teams - and interact with the customers for proposals & contracts.
  • Develop a value proposition / Account plan meetings as well as tailored roadmaps to successfully close concrete custom development opportunities.
  • Professionally manage bids and proposals as per the Custom Development Opportunity Management Guidelines with support from our Delivery Organization and together with the local Sales and Consulting teams.
  • Ensure compliance as per Custom Development governance processes, synchronization with SAP Consulting internal processes and secure conformity with Corporate Controlling and Legal Guidelines for CDPs.
  • Support the account team in managing customer expectations during project delivery incl. Custom Development related escalations.
  • You are the first point of contact for ongoing project communication with the respective Market Unit and the Project Manager.
  • Secure an appropriate bid management and delivery governance (approval process, risk management and compliance) in alignment with other LoBs.
  • Maintain project pipeline and revenue forecasts, and oversight of the project performance (in any aspect that may affect P&L). Provide appropriate updates to the SAP Custom Development management.
  • Together with our Project Managers you are responsible for requesting and safeguarding the CD Customer Satisfaction material, and for the facilitation of respective customer responses.

 WORK EXPERIENCE:

5+ years of professional experience Project Management, Sales or Consulting of SAP solutions

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • University degree / MBA
  • Knowledge of the SAP business is an advantage
  • Strong experience in driving customer relationship
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Intensive networking and team orientation
  • Sound analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Very good self-management and objective-focused working mode
  • Highly customer-oriented
  • Pro-active and success-driven with a “can do” attitude
  • Effective communicator
  • Fluent English, and excellent presentation skills
  • Business acumen in combination with technology expertise
  • Good understanding and experience of custom software development, its complexities, the key business requirements for execution and a good understanding of scoping at high level
  • Intercultural sensibility
  • Willingness to travel is required and dependent on opportunity and project requirements +50%
