Carillion MENA Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) function is responsible for supporting the Carillion entities across MENA (Al Futtaim Carillion, EMRILL, Carillion Alawi, Carillion Qatar, Carillion Saudi Arabia) with a range of Technology and Telecommunication services, systems and solutions. The ICT Department delivers leading technological and telecommunication solutions to Carillion Construction and Service business businesses across MENA.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB  

  • Working with the ICT Director, to facilitate the delivery of the IS strategy.
  • Lead the implementation of the Carillion MENA ERP and business applications
  • To effectively lead and supervise the MENA Information Systems team to deliver the required input to Programme/Project Management and Systems Analysis of requested business activities, Systems Development, Data Analysis and Technology usage.
  • Business relationship person for all Information System needs. To build and maintain an effective ‘network of contacts’ with the business, clients and solution providers to ensure that Carillion is aligned to business and client expectations and aware of market trends.
  • Prioritising projects and co-ordinating the Information Systems resource to ensure that IS projects/activities are delivered within the agreed timescale, budget and process requirement.
  • Demonstrating a clear and visible customer focus, ensuring project and SLA targets are achieved.
  • Ensuring and monitoring delivery to SLA targets.

KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB

  • Define the IS strategy for the Carillion MENA business
  • Project manage the implementation of key business applications (including ERP system).
  • Resource directing and prioritisation for the Information Systems team.
  • Management control of the Information Systems budget and individual project budgets 
  • Building effective relationships with key business, clients and solution providers.
  • Creating customer focus within delivery teams
  • The management and directing of projects through effective use of recognised project management methodology.
  • Production and acceptance of required project documentation e.g. PID, project plans, risk and issue logs, end stage reports etc.
  • Leading programmes to reengineer business processes to achieve standardised applications across Carillion
  • Recognise and justify exceptions to process standardisation for client and operational service delivery
  • Development of team resources.
  • Capacity planning and sizing of resources required to deliver the required service.
  • Co-ordinate with ICT group and other third parties to enable delivery of service.
  • Relationship and contract management of third party solution providers.
  • Production of required activity reporting information.
  • Achieve SLA targets. 
  • For a Business Unit or professional function:
  • Provides input to the development of the Business Unit plan with planning horizons typically up to 3 years
  • Directs activities to support operational delivery and growth
  • Sets direction for their department, contracts or area of responsibility
  • Operates independently within working parameters set by Business Group SMT or Head of Function
  • Establishes and maintains key client and sector relationships and ensures client expectations are managed
  • Manages Health and Safety policy and standards
  • Determines priorities and makes decisions of business unit impact
  • Has overall accountability for the direction of services/contracts which may contain a degree of complexity and risk
  • Contributes to and delivers Business Unit strategy

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Accountable for financial performance and risk management
Responsible for compliance to Corporate Governance standards
Ensuring compliance with Carillion financial policy and standards
Typically sets budgets and works within budgetary guidelines and ensures compliance
Promotes innovative ways to add value and reduce costs within the team.
Directs Level 3 or Level 2 projects

PEOPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

For a Business Unit or professional function:

Overall people responsibility for a defined area
Ensures compliance with reward strategy and HR policy and procedures
Determines resource requirements and allocates appropriate resource
Identifies people related risks and suggests solutions

Desired Skills and Experience

In order to be successful for Al Futtaim Carillion at this level, your experience must include:
Thorough working knowledge of one functional area through significant job experience & training
Likely to have 10 years business experience, be a minimum part-qualified professional, and have a Certificate Level of Qualification as a minimum.
Prince 2 Qualified or similar project management qualification
Knowledge of Finance / HR / Payroll / CAFM systems advantageous
Information Systems transformation experience
Experience of Implementing a ERP system
