Job opening for Senior Analyst - Subject to Contract Award with Serco

We also deliver postgraduate education to Officers in the Qatar Armed Forces through the Joaan Bin Jassim Joint Command and Staff College in Doha.

Reporting to: Finance Business Partner – Business Development

Base location: Dubai Support Office

Key Purpose

The role requires collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop optimal pricing solutions for bids that satisfy Serco’s internal governance requirements, through providing expert financial modelling, robust financial output and tailored financial analysis for effective decision making; contribute to development of best modelling practice.

Key accountabilities

Strategy and Plans

Develop and recommend improvements to the bid modelling process, including assurance and review of financial outputs

Play a role in ensuring compliance with Serco Group policy and standards relating to financial modelling for bids

Assist in developing and implementing financial modelling best practice across Serco Middle East

Growth and Financials

Deliver robust financial models to support bidding activity across all business units within Serco Middle East

Assist in developing data manipulation capability beyond the modelling of financial data, in order to support emerging commercial propositions across the business

Assist in the delivery of a cost effective model audit capability, and the implementation of a suite of pre-audited financial models for wider use across the contract base

Organisation and People

Educate and train other members of the commercial team and the wider business community in Excel and financial modelling best practice

Collaborate with experts and bid team members to scope the requirements for the financial deliverables, manage expectations of the key stakeholders on the deliverables and ensure the financial model accurately reflects operational solution

Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications

Education

University degree educated (preferably in accounting, finance, economics, business management and related fields of study)

Essential

Expert Excel skills

Expert financial modelling capability including experience of building P&L and cashflow statements in Excel linked to cost inputs

Ability to perform financial analysis for the project including key financial ratios, sensitivity analysis and benchmarking  

Basic knowledge of accounting principles

Reasonable business / commercial awareness

Capacity to handle
demanding and fluctuating workload, strong time management skills

Thoroughness and attention to detail with steadiness under pressure

Demonstrable track record of effective working within a team

Adequate communication skills to enable working with a range of stakeholders across the business

Desirable

Financial / accounting professional qualifications (CA, CFA, CIMA, etc)

Experience of effective working in bid teams

Use of statistical risk analysis tools

Financial reporting expertise and knowledge of IFRS

Demonstrable track record of innovative thinking

Background in Transport or FM

Additional/special features of the role

Subject matter expert in financial modelling

Ability to engage with different teams within the business to produce financial model which incorporates relevant inputs from various experts and delivers the output required by the stakeholders
