Strategy & Corporate Development leader in the bank, responsible for ensuring a valid and winning rolling 5 year strategy whilst driving performance improvement across the bank. This role requires elite business and operational banking knowledge as well as elite stakeholder management and effective communication skills dealing with Board to Staff.
- Strategy: Overseas the development and refinement of the Bank’s strategy by preparing annual discussion materials for the Management Executive Committee and the Board, and by advising key leaders of businesses, divisions and key projects. Work focuses on the broad direction of the Bank’s strategy as a whole, targeted strategic business problem, and relationships between business units and support functions.
- Analytics & Insight: Business Intelligence, Data Solutions, and Insights, serving the Bank as a whole, working with the Business & support functions for an effective data driven decision making framework.
- Customer Experience: Independent view of customer experience and service quality across the bank including ownership of customer experience framework, mystery shopping, complaints and interventions to ensure staff adhere to required service delivery standards for Wholesale and Retail customers.
- Stakeholder Communication: Internally and externally, producing reports, metrics, statistics, briefings and updates on market trends, competitive advantage, synergies, opportunities for development and potential threats.
- Continuously updating and progressing responsibilities and critical activities against changing or conflicting business priorities.
- Reviews organisational development and ‘decision’ making processes, protocols and procedures including continuously assessing the effectiveness of governance committees.
- Defines and measures corporate level performance; produces progress reports to monitor business units performance against targets, reporting variances and identifying risks associated with shortfalls.
Minimum Entry Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, preferable Master’s Degree
- Minimum of 15 years banking experience, with at least 10 years in a relevant function
- Minimum of 7 years managing people / teams directly
- Demonstrated structured problem solving methodology and analytical capability
- Demonstrated experience in preparation of formal business documents for senior audiences
- Team leadership experience with ability to build cross functional rapport at all levels.
- Bilingual communications experience (i.e. to large numbers of staff, or policy documents or similar to government or non-government organisations)
- Financial services industry experience (particularly banking)
- Regional and international experience with exposure to diverse cultures
- Understanding of regional and international banking industry trends
- Certified Financial Analyst (CFA).
