Organization: Edelman Intelligence
Practice Area: Specialty Services
Description
Edelman Intelligence is the strategic and insights-driven market research arm of Edelman – the world’s largest and most global public relations firm. We are strategic partners and consultants to a wide range of top-tier clients (to name a few: Bridgestone, Western Union, Mars, Dannon, as well as major trades associations, not-for profits, universities, and institutes). Our engagements span primary, secondary research and analytics, and utilize a full suite of cutting edge tools and methodologies. Our motto is Intelligent Engagement, and our mission is quite simple… we strive to make our client engagements the smartest they can be. Whether it is optimizing a messaging strategy or identifying a target audience, we are committed to engagements that marry creativity + strategy in the world of marketing communications.
Our New York office often engages in client projects relating to public policy. We are looking for a Vice President specializing in primary research that will grow business, manage client engagements, and mentor junior staff. We want someone who brings the right mix of skills as a client relationship builder, research consultant, and project manager.
WHAT WE ARE EXPECTING FROM YOU: ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES-
CLIENT RELATIONSHIP BUILDING: In business, it all starts with relationships. You will:
Create, build, and nurture relationships with Edelman teams and external clients in the NYC metropolitan area and beyond to generate new opportunities and build incremental business;
Fluently speak the languages of communications, marketing, business, and research – and tailor those communications to audiences of all levels of expertise;
Establish a reputation as a go-to research expert, both within the Edelman network and directly to our clients.
RESEARCH CONSULTANCY: Data doesn’t mean anything on its own – it needs to be collected effectively and communicated effectively. You will:
Ask the right questions, identify and understand business objectives, and ultimately scope the right research that will have the most impact;
Provide strategic counsel to clients throughout all stages of the research process;
Create stories, identify insights, and effectively communicate research results that will drive strategy and enable clients to accomplish their business objectives.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: It’s not all strategizing – we need someone who can execute. You will:
Manage complex quantitative and qualitative research from end-to-end, including writing surveys and moderator guides, coordinating execution staff, liaising with analysts in our Research and Innovation Technology Center in Rochester, NY, leading the analysis, and overseeing creation of effective research reports and client deliverables including development of major findings and strategic implications;
Lead operational and financial performance of account teams, set timelines and ensure that they are met, and ensure that client requests and incidental events are responded to quickly and appropriately;
Guide advanced statistical analysis working with data processing and statisticians in the execution of consumer segmentation, regression analysis, cluster and conjoint analysis, among others;
Mentor and manage both direct and indirect reports to ensure that projects are completed – and employee expertise is being developed – effectively.
