We have a vacancy for a Project Manager within the Geotechnical Division of Horizon Geosciences.
The Project Manager is responsible for the supervision and management of specific projects assigned by the Projects Director. Responsible for all communications with Client (commercial and contractual), directing the Party Chief/Team Leader, or senior field staff, to ensure that the project is conducted within budget, in accordance with the procedures, to the contract specifications, and that the Company’s Integrated Management System procedures are followed.
Responsibility and Principle Activity:
Desired Requirements:
B.Sc. or Engineering Level in Hydrographic Surveying/Geotechnical or related discipline.
Minimum of three years’ experience in the marine survey industry.
Minimum of one year experience in project management.
Familiar with the services and equipment used.
Familiar with basic accounting principles.
Fluent written and spoken English Language.
Computer literate (MS Office applications, MS Projects).

Responsibility and Principle Activity:
- Provide assistance to the Projects Director in project organisation and allocation of project resources.
- Correspond with the client on contractual and commercial matters.
- Ensure that project procedures are suitable and meet the requirements of the specific project.
- Conduct a project briefing to the geotechnical survey team including technical and HSE specific requirements and subjects.
- Ensure that field staff follow emergency procedures.
- Ensure that field staff report accidents / incidents.
- Ensure that projects meet the contract specifications and time frame.
- Regularly contact and update clients with the project progress.
- Monitor the performance of the project and provide project cost and revenue information.
- If required, initiate, check and submit contract variations.
- Review and approve all project reporting and charting
- Monitor field expenses and create project related invoices.
- Track project related expenses and report internally on a monthly basis.
- Line Management and development responsibility of a team of Assistant Project Manager’s.
- Provide active participation in the form of adherence to and improvement of the Company’s Integrated Management System.
- Encourage working methods that promote health and safety and challenge those who do not work in a safe manner.
