We are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Enterprise Architecture team within our Technology & Innovation function as an Enterprise Application Architect,

You will be responsible to lead architecture design activities for enterprise application programs that are aimed at improving Etihad business and ensure compliance between business strategies, enterprise transformation activities and technology direction.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES

• Execute the global enterprise architecture strategy that supports corporate goals
• Manage design of current and future enterprise application architectures, identify integration issues and contribute to application roadmaps that align with the corporate business strategy and business requirements
• Create and review enterprise application architecture capability strategy to support the strategic requirements of the business
• Identify and assess emerging enterprise-wide application services, methods and technologies
• Develop solution design approaches, select and advocate the solution most appropriate for Etihad business
• Lead and remove roadblocks for the Application Architecture team including the Application, SOA, Metadata and Technical Architects to ensure that solution design meets enterprise architecture standards
• Work closely with senior management to propose improvements to Enterprise Applications
• Collaborate with program architects across the organization on the details of the application architecture for their particular domain

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

Participate in the formulation and implementation of the Function/Department strategy to ensure the alignment with Etihad’s strategy
Policies and Procedures
Implement relevant policies, processes and procedures and monitor adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

Day-to-Day Operations

Manage the day-to-day operations by providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards

People Development

Manage the effective achievement of objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff in order to maximize subordinate performance
Safety, Quality & Environment
Comply with all relevant safety, security, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Design of enterprise application components and development of solution blueprints for the enterprise
• Knowledge of development methodologies and practices for creation of re-usable solution assets and application architecture
• Design and development of Enterprise Architecture through the understanding of business objectives and mapping user requirements
• Validation of business cases and gathering and document business and functional objectives
• Articulation of solution risks and recommendation of project approaches
• Knowledge of and experience with Enterprise Architecture methodologies, framework and tools
• Ability to think ahead and anticipate problems, issues and solutions
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical and business concepts both to business partners and project teams
• Ability to create and maintain current-state and future-state applications architecture views for the enterprise
• Good understanding of enterprise applications, supplier services and customers/users
• Relationship management and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to mentor members of the architecture and partner teams
• Ability to engage at all levels to understand and agree priorities and manage expectations
• EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 
• Bachelor degree from university preferably in in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent
• Post-graduation (preferably in Information Technology or Computer Science) desirable
• TOGAF 9.1 and ITIL Foundation certificate desirable
• At least 10 years of information systems experience of which 7 years have been in Enterprise Architecture with at least 5 years of experience in Enterprise Application architecture
• Very strong technical leadership particularly in distributed systems architecture and object modeling skills
• Experience in architecting global enterprise application services for Digital marketing, Web analytics, Mobile architecture, Ecommerce
• Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
• Knowledge of service orientated architecture and integration services
• Proven experience in leading clients and team members through large complex system architectural implementations
• Broad knowledge of integration and application platforms, techniques and technologies is required
• Ability to delineate concise and structured recommendations for enterprise solutions as well as simplifying technical architecture
• Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
• Experience in estimating the financial impact of individual architectural alternatives will be an added advantage
• Proven ability to define multiple options to address a business problem or need
• Demonstrable high level architectural, analytical and problem solving abilities
