Job Position: Gulf Marketing Manager – Digital Brands
Function: Marketing, Beauty & Personal Care

Digital Marketing, E-commerce and New Business Models are a clear growth driver for Unilever
The consumer packed industry (CPG) is facing an enormous digital growth opportunity. The prominence shift from brick & mortar and related shelf-space towards ecommerce and related new business models, is developing rapidly. Today consumers have stopped watching traditional media channels, they subscribe on ‘convenience boxes’ delivered straight to their home, and check reviews before buying anything. The development of new digital capabilities and skills to stay competitive in this space is pivotal for Unilever to leverage this digital trend.

About The Role:

As the Gulf New Brands and Digital Lead you will have P&L responsibility for a selection of brands spanning all Beauty & Personal Care categories. You will be responsible for select existing in-market brands where we have moved 100% of our marketing spends to digital. You will be responsible for the volume and value growth of these brands by ensuring that the marketing campaigns are created and deployed suitably on digital to ensure maximum reach and impact within our consumer target groups. You will also be responsible for bring new brands exclusively for E-commerce, Pharmacy and/or Select Modern Trade. These brands will be deployed using a judicious mix of digital and in-store spends only. There will be no money spent on traditional media in such launches. This role will be the single largest contributor to growth for Beauty & Personal Care Gulf.

You will report directly to the Gulf Beauty & Personal Care Director.

Main Accountabilities

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Understanding of Brand Marketing with strong consumer understanding of relevant categories
  • Strong understanding of digital media marketing
  • Preferably having past experience of handling a P&L
  • Proven ability to drive digital transformation and new digital channel expansion
  • Ability to manage senior level stakeholders, drive change management and thought leadership
  • Experience in building eCommerce capabilities and teams for FMCG/CPG businesses and brands
  • Measureable eCommerce experience in driving Omnichannel and new online business models
  • Ability to translate shopper and consumer insights to create new consumer & customer experiences
  • To be a digital evangelist personally and clearly ahead of the curve in personal knowledge and use of social platforms
  • Ability to work well with teams and people in general

  • 7+ years of digital transformation experience in establishing Digital Marketing and eCommerce organizations and teams.

  • Experience in CPG / FMCG companies and preferably in handling a beauty care brand/category
