The purpose of this role is to provide quality input in terms of analysing, planning and control support to the business. The quality input will help business to achieve first-class customer service and robust business planning while improving forecast performance & minimising inventory.
Key accountabilities
- Obtaining demand input from Sales Managers, Key Account Managers and the marketing team and adjusting the forecast database as necessary.
- Developing exception reporting and investigating root causes of forecast error to obtain improvements in forecast accuracy.
- Regularly reviewing forecasts for key grade items, new items and high volatility items.
- Maintaining data integrity within the forecasting database.
- Communicating updated forecasts to supply chain in a timely manner.
- Identifying short term demand variability, communicating this to Supply Chain and assisting with management.
- Providing forecast-related support to other areas of the business, eg inventory management, marketing.
- Promoting and embedding a forecasting discipline across the business.
- Maintaining and house keeping of Vulnerabilities and opportunities data base.
- Development of root cause analysis for medium to long term trends within the business. The outputs of the analysis will be used within the LBM process to update sales and marketing plans.
- Essential Education
- Graduate / Bachelors Degree or equivalent
Essential experience and job requirements
- Minimum of 3 years relevant business experience.
- Experience in sales & operations demand planning / forecasting.
- Strong analytical skills. (MS Office, BO, JDE etc)
- Knowledge of statistical analysis.
- Well developed skills in communication and influencing others.
- Business English.
- Flexibility of thought and action to be able to respond to changing market environments and dynamic business situations.
- Ability to work across functions and gain support.
- Able to meet tight deadlines and face increasingly difficult situations with confidence and "can do attitude".
