Job Opening for Strategy Resource - Arabic Speaking with TECOM Group Dubai

Job description

Assist in the development of the strategy for Dubai Wholesale City (DWSC), supporting the Executive Director- Strategy in defining strategic objectives, execution plans and on performance management to ensure the project delivers on targets. The role holder is also responsible for independently generating new ideas, conducting analysis, and preparing reports for management, with minimal supervision.

Strategy Development

  • Supports the development of DWSC’s strategy in order to generate realistic financial and operational targets over 3 to 5 year horizon and ensure achievement of targets via identification of significant strategic initiatives.
  • Accountable for assessing and monitoring market demands, industry dynamics, and future trends in various sectors.
  • Responsible for conducting local and international intelligence and competitor analysis.
  • Scans and reviews micro and macro-economic factors in order to map assumptions regarding future performance of various DWSC sectors and develops new approaches to achieve financial goals.
  • Analyses and interprets multiple, ambiguous data points to generate clear conclusions and actionable initiatives.
  • Generates and effectively communicates opinions and recommendations to management.
  • Supports the business planning process for Dubai Wholesale City.
  • Supports the Executive Director of Strategy in developing Dubai Wholesale City value proposition, products, services, and operating model. 

Cross-Organization Collaboration

Is the main point of contact for specific activities performed with Corporate strategy and other departments from TECOM Group.
Supports the Executive Director of Strategy in the development of projects with other government entities.
Supports the Executive Director of Strategy to identify potential partnerships and to develop the partnership model.

Impact and Influence

Is able to perform independently and with minimal supervision the tasks assigned.
Develops a point of view and effectively communicates recommendations to management.
Generates new ideas and approaches in performing the tasks assigned.

Business Development

Evaluates the competitive landscape and identifies opportunities to capture market share.
Generates list of target leads and supports Business Development in reaching out to those leads and follows up.
Generates and maintains the potential client database for business development initiatives.
Supports Business Development in generating customized offerings, pricings, terms and conditions.

Strategy execution and Project Management
Leads with small supervision ad hoc projects assigned by the Executive Director of Strategy, working with other departments and external consultants.
Develops industry and technical specific knowledge.

Performance Management

Monitors the performance of the company and single departments.
Tracks the status of projects defined by in the strategy and business plans.
Develops and maintains KPIs and reports for Dubai Wholesale City.
Supports in the identification and implementation of corrective actions to align performance to the objectives.

Minimum Qualification:

·   Advanced degree, ideally with specialization in Economics or Engineering
·   An MBA from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
·   Fluent in English and Arabic

Experience:

·   Minimum of 5 years strategy consulting experience or relevant professional experience in a large organization
·   Cross sector experience gained through direct industry experience or several strategy projects. Experience in industrial or wholesale trade sector would be an advantage
·   International living and working experience would be an advantage
