We are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join the Strategy & Planning function as a Senior Manager Operations Research . The role is responsible for supporting the design, research and implementation of long-term strategic, innovative projects that give a commercial edge to Etihad, and its equity alliance/partnerships.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the data analysis capability to ensure compliance with high quality, data protection and integrity policies and regulations
• Contribute in defining data analysis methodologies and guidelines to ensure activities are executed on time and in compliance with high quality standards and best practices
• Identify and prioritize initiatives to ensure team is focused on business relevant and cost effective projects
• Implement best practices and leading methodologies, projects, guidelines and recommendations to ensure improvement of data analysis capabilities and teams across the organization
• Lead the design, development and deployment of strategic reporting tools and dashboards to ensure reporting capabilities are timely and properly communicated to the business
• Lead strategic projects on data analysis and reporting areas to ensure they are delivered on time, on budget and according to business needs
• Advice Etihad’s senior management on best practices and innovations regarding data mining, simulation and reporting tools to ensure Etihad’s has access to best in class technologies and tools
• Lead, coach and provide informal and formal feedback to the team to ensure they perform according to high quality standards and providing maximum value to the business
• Identify, review and present analytics data to present to the business fact based revenue growth opportunities.
• Advice and challenge business decisions leveraging analytical resources to effectively contribute to the strategic decision

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Development

• The role provides a strategic advisory function, analyzing all data available, both internally & externally to provide long terms (12 month+) plans to support the growth and profitability of the airline

Project Management

• The role is responsible for planning, structuring, and leading cross departmental projects. Requiring a strong analytical/systems management and commercial focus to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

Performance Development

• Review Data System inputs & outputs and build software changes, where required, to ensure that systems deliver optimum results that make life simpler for users and customers

Data Warehousing

• Manage a central point for the business to map, store and accumulate business data, internally & externally for the current and future

Data Mining

• Business Partner with other areas of the business to provide specialist Operational Research knowledge and experience, defining data sources, algorithms, tools, data mining, and analysis techniques

Quantitative Analysis

• Provide insight, interpretation and analysis of the relevant multiple data sources, using efficient Operational Research techniques to analyze mass data when required

Decision Support

• Provide interpretation of relevant data to support the business in the decision making process for major capital spends, long-term business plans, and investments
• Innovation 
• Working across S&P to build new tools, provide new software or processes, to support more efficient and profitable ways of working, including optimization of the Revenue Management systems

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research / Mathematics / Business / Physics / Geography or similar discipline
• PhD/MBA/MSc in Operations Research or related discipline would be preferable
• Minimum 8 years working experience in an Operations Research environment within an airline
