Communication & PR Director
Middle East & Turkey
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the most dynamic hotel companies in the world and a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, is looking for a Communication & PR Director for Middle East & Turkey, based in Dubai. This position will report to the Area Director of Marketing, with a dotted line to Head of PR, Brand & Marketing Communications at Central Support Office (CSO) in Brussels. The candidate will support the development and execution of the group’s communication, PR and social media strategy in the area, and help drive the awareness of the company’s Vision, Mission, Values and Strategy across all hotels in the area.
The candidate’s principal role is to manage the day to day management of the area communication office and execution of all communication, PR and social media activities together with the Area Vice President and Area Revenue Generation team members. The candidate with promote the brand and marketing activities in the local media – online and offline – including marketing campaigns. He/she will also be responsible for organising executive interviews, event promotion, business development coverage, awards and competitions and social media activities.
The candidate must be an experienced communicator capable of engaging senior executives, managers and the company’s employees in order to support implementation of the global communication strategy. The candidate must also have a strong understanding of the Corporate Communications, PR and social media networks, and specific requirements of the Middle East and Turkey markets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work in close cooperation with the Area Revenue Generation teams and Corporate Communication & PR team to ensure a cohesive and integrated communication (Brand, Corporate, PR and Social Media) effort on all campaigns and activities – always keeping in mind the core of Brand Experience, Company’s Core Values, Employee Needs, Consumer Needs, and Company’s Credibility
Educate, motivate and drive the awareness of the power of effective PR & Social Media in the hotels, and help them engage effectively and positively with the customers
Serve as the Content Factory, i.e. the key touch point and funnel to the hotels for all Corporate News, Events and Campaigns. Coach and encourage hotels to provide meaningful content for communication channels – PR, Social and Internal Communication
Ensure that the corporate strategies and priorities are communicated on time to the hotels, and executed as per the corporate standards
Develop and maintain strong relations with international, regional and national media. Build a valuable database of journalists and bloggers for the area in liaison with the CSO and the corporate agency
Provide valuable strategic feedback to the CSO on the brands’ perception, awareness, service propositions, marketing messages, etc
Promote employee engagement and development, by delivering stories and inspirational content, and identifying training needs and structure in the Communication, PR and Social Media arena
Support the CSO in managing and building the reputation of The Rezidor Hotel Group, its brands, its hotels and its senior executives
Facilitate Social Media, Crisis Management, Crisis Communications and other communication training for the Area executives and General Managers
Monitor and benchmark media coverage
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree in journalism or corporate communication and public relations
5 years of relevant work experience required with strong understanding of media network in the Middle East & Turkey
Proficient ability to communicate effectively in English & Arabic as minimum language skills
International experience in social media and other online communication channels
Strong presentation skills
Demonstrated organisation skills and planning abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise work to align with company’s and department’s initiatives
