This individual will be responsible for managing all hardware and software required by Tyfone employees in Bangalore to perform their work. The System administrator will also be responsible for all Tyfone servers (both internal and external), to ensure that they are operational and available, with any needed downtime planned in advance.

Job Description
A Tyfone NetOps Engineer will be responsible (but not limited to) the following:
- Provisioning Dedicated and Cloud based servers for the development team.
- Deploying, implementing, installing, configuring, managing security for a Linux and Windows Servers.
- Setting up and managing services like Apache, Tomcat, MySQL and nginx.
- Implementing and configuring software and hardware firewalls.
- Managing the overall administration of WAN, LAN, Firewall & VPN at the Bangalore location.
- Implementing and auditing security templates/policies.
- Infrastructure setup – desktops & servers; install software, configure hardware, peripherals, services, software settings, directories, storage, etc. accordance with standards and project / operational requirements.
- Apply OS patches / upgrades regularly, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
- Manage operations and support; Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
- Evaluate hardware utilization with periodic reporting, and plan for growth.
- Maintain and monitor communication and network equipment to support capacity planning and optimize usage of network resources.
- Track and manage assets, and software licenses / renewals.
- Perform system monitoring, verifying integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
- Collaborate / Communicate with management and teams to set expectations, bring out any issues, and handle escalations.
- Vendor coordination for provisioning hardware, software and other IT Services.
Requirements (Skill Sets)
- DIPLOMA/B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech./M.C.A.
- IT and Network Administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Operating Systems: Windows, Ubuntu, CentOS or other Linux distribution a must.
- System and Server Monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix.
- Services: Samba, NFS, NIS, LAMP, LDAP and LVM.
- Virtualization: VMware and Virtual Box.
- Firewall: Sonicwall, pfsense and ipcop.
- Scripting skills – shell, perl, python etc.
- Knowledge of Switches and Routers.
- Good communication skills.
- Energetic, proactive & willing to learn.
