Edit/write scripts for newscast, and communicate closely with reporters, producers and editors.

Must be available to work 40 hours a week. Available to college graduates with a degree in journalism. Mature and professional conduct expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and organizes production elements of the newscast.
  • Generates copy including teases and bumps.
  • Works closely with News Director, Anchor and editors to maximize daily resources and appropriately reflect the news of the day.
  • Works in the control room during the live newscast and communicates with the production staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • TV news experience preferred
  • Candidates must demonstrate a passion for news. This includes monitoring competitive newscasts, and follow social media daily.
  • Suggest story ideas daily
  • Familiarity with Final Cut X and videography skills is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills needed
  • Leadership ability, positive attitude and creativity a must.
