Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking a Senior Project Surveyor to be based in Dubai.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with working closely with, and, at times, leading a team delivering a number of pre and post contract activities, and will be responsible for delivery of services on a major program of works. The role will be varied offering experience across an entire portfolio of aviation and transportation projects on and offers opportunity to progress within the business, for the right candidate, in a structured, fast track time frame.

Lead teams preparing, and to deliver, Cost Plans and all other aspects of Cost Management related services from inception of a project through completion.

To achieve the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the firm.

Oversee preparation of Tender Documentation and managing supply chain engagement.

Ability to integrate with key members of the design team and Client team.

Assist in tracking changes pre contract, and advising Client of budget control techniques.

Prepare initial assessments of project risk, and key project value drivers.

Analysis of, selection and articulation of suitable procurement route options for Client approval.

Check the Contractor’s interim and final pay certificates.

Evaluate unit rates for new items of works.

Assist in preparation of Variation Orders.

Assist in evaluating claims.

Assist in coaching and appraising of junior members of staff. To act as a supervisor for current graduates and work with them to achieving competences for the APC.

Working in a multi-disciplinary design / engineering environment.

Presentation of financial updates and status reports to senior client representatives.

Representing AECOM at regular progress and senior management meetings

Financial accountability for profitable delivery of projects against agreed resource and cost budgets.

Minimum Requirements

A minimum of 10 years’ experience with large scale projects.

Experience in major aviation and transportation projects.

Excellent working knowledge of industry practices, and understanding of the cost salient attributes of airport terminal and airfield infrastructure development, including a sound technical and commercial understanding of the importance of airport specifics such as baggage handling systems, specialist airport systems and fit out of the appropriate spaces, is preferential

To be a team player on a major project, acting as a collaborator across several areas of the Middle East and European business.

In depth knowledge of cost planning techniques, budget management and change control

Demonstrable experience in leading a team through pre contract and post contract phases on a project

Ability to present confidently to a series of Senior project personnel from Client, Stakeholder and Design Team disciplines

Ability to act with discretion and safeguarding confidentiality of project data.

Astute financial management and control of project resources.

Computer Literate, with specific experience in Cost Management software programs

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying
