Job description
Caterpillar has exciting opportunities for you if you are interested in a role as Transport Analyst. This position provides analysis and makes recommendations related to establishing an optimal service parts network from transportation perspective. It supports the CDS transportation manager on strategic network changes by providing transportation inputs into the redesign of the transportation network; supporting network implementation efforts in conjunction with other business partners to include transportation procurement and other business partners (carriers, product distribution, service parts operations, etc.). Ultimately, the purpose is to develop and execute transportation practices, set-up KPI’s and manage performance of all process partners in the value chain.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Provide research, analysis, and recommendations and assist implementation effort to customers on transportation, logistics, and hazardous materials issues that affect parts / product distribution operations in EAME.
* Research, develop and implement individual transportation plans with dealers and facilities to ensure that the "high velocity" material flow is established and maintained.
* Develop together with the team members standard KPI's to manage performance.
* Monitor and report exceptions in the flow of goods on the international tradelanes.
* Drive Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) in the areas of poor performance in order to improve overall distribution flow or cost of distribution.
* Manage proactive communication with the distribution centers, supply chain partners and dealers in case of operational issues that will impact on-time delivery.
* Support and monitor process improvements that will enable parts / product distribution operations to improve the transportation/logistics system and enhance the ability to become a more high velocity organization
* Interact with carrier base to understand and improve current service offerings.
* Need to maintain a high level of knowledge/expertise regarding governmental regulations pertaining to import and export requirements, carrier rules and regulations
* Provide support to internal and external teams related to systems, operational, and process improvement i.e., Facility Logistics, and Inventory Management. Participate on teams and ad hoc committees dealing with supply chain issues requiring transportation input.
* The position is challenged to carefully analyse problems and review a large number of possible solutions before selecting one option. The incumbent sets priorities and establishes a work plan in order to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results.
* The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and is support function to the CDS transportation manager. The position require up to 5% of travel.

Required Qualifications:

* Knowledge of International transportation operations, service parts distribution, developing standard transportation processes, network flows.
* Strong analytical skills.
* College or university degree.
* 4 to 6 years job-related experience is typically required.
* Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
* Experience on distribution from UAE on different transportation modes. (ground, ocean and air)
* Sound customs related experience for service parts warehouse, preferable in automotive or industrial businesses.
* Good administrative skills: has attention to detail and works very accurate.
* Problem solving skills: identifies problems/causes and takes the appropriate initiatives.

Desired Qualifications:

* Good communications skills in English
* Good knowledge of Windows applications
* Working knowledge of company products.
* Knowledge of prevailing government requirements and local customs and practices
