Zayed University is hiring Senior Coordinator Retention Solutions- Office of the Provost

The Office of the Provost seeks an incumbent for the position of Senior Coordinator Retention Solutions, to ensure that Zayed University develops and maintains an effective support system for students by students that fosters and improves student retention rates and promotes a strong sense of belonging to Zayed University: To provide academic guidance, based on good practice principles, to ensure that ZU has a credible peer support program for under-graduate students. The support system will contain such areas as:

  • Orientation,
  • Peer Assistance Support.
  • International Student Recruitment

The Responsibilities

  • Recruits, hires, trains, and provides daily monitoring of peer tutors (PALs).
  • Coordinates, administers work schedules for the PALs (including V PALs) and communicates regularly with PALs when necessary.
  • Line manages, evaluates the PALs and counsels/de-selects peer tutors where necessary
  • Prepares, maintains and updates materials, publications, including curriculum, related to peer tutoring activities.
  • Coordinates and participates in university events in which PALs are requested to assist in e.g. Orientation days, Careers Spotlight, Deans’ list Award ceremonies, Fairs, Exhibitions etc.
  • Coordinates with the Finance Department for semester payment for PALs.
  • Liaise with the Publications Office in regards to PALs web site, posters, certifications etc.
  • Assist with facilitating any PALs related activities on or off campus.
  • Maintain and update any PALs Social media and Zayed University online PALs literature.
  • Evaluate and assess PALs activities on an ongoing basis using the online evaluation database.
  • Provide PALs with assistance in any further post graduate studies or job applications eg Resume and application assistance, References., E Badges.
  • Serve as a liaison to faculty/staff associated with PALs e.g. Grades First Tutor booking system. requested University events/activities.

The Requirements

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in teaching, advising or retention activities at an institution of higher learning or other management setting or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience. Master degree preferred.
  • Essential Requirements
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Proven skills at working with student effectively.
  • Experience with adolescents and/or young adult students in an educational setting.
