JP Morgan Chase is hiring CIB - EMEA Equity Research – MENA Equities – Analyst / Associate

Opportunity

Full time position of an Equity Research Analyst for coverage of MENA equities; the role is based in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

Support equity research coverage of MENA stocks mainly within the non-financials space

Help creation of investment analyses, ideas and recommendations within the stocks / industries covered; ensure timely publication of these in research publications and help marketing of these investment ideas to the global equity client base

Conduct regular inquiry into the micro & macro developments within the sectoral coverage; create and maintain relationships with buy-side investor clients, sales & trading, corporate managements & industry participants

Work with colleagues in other geographies and asset classes to service institutional clients with respect to the sectors, region & stocks covered

Regularly maintain and update financial models and material for investment analysis and senior analyst marketing

The candidate must be market savvy and possess knowledge of company / industry analysis and equity valuation; is interested in equity markets from a career perspective; able to communicate well orally and in writing; is able to deal confidently with colleagues at all levels internally and external clients in the asset management industry. Prior experience gained on the sell-side, buy-side or investment banking will be a significant advantage.

Essential Skills

  • Fluency – oral and written – in English is essential; in Arabic – highly preferred
  • Accounting knowledge with some prior experience of financial statement analysis; CFA or progress towards the charter will be preferred
  • Knowledge of any of these industries will be preferred although not required: chemicals / consumer / real estate / industrials & utilities
  • Financial markets experience (sell-side, buy-side or investment banking/M&A) preferred, with some knowledge of equity markets
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint knowledge
  • Good written & verbal communication skills to be able to write impactful research pieces and to debate and defend ideas to internal & external clients
  • Ambitious, hard-working, with attention to detail
  • Reliable team player with a capacity to show initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure, for long hours and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to travel globally for corporate / client meetings
