- Managing the Data Protection Compliance Programme
- Provides leadership and guidance to the Business on all aspects of the data protection compliance programme including:
- Plan the EAG global privacy programme under in keeping with objectives set by the DPO
- Act as a key contact and reference point for all data protection related issues for internal and external parties (seeking legal advice where necessary).
- Responsible for developing and implementing Group Policies on data protection.
- Resolving ad hoc queries and issues relating to data protection
- Identifying data protection and information security issues that need addressing, in particular in relation to suppliers and to IT systems, and working with management to address those issues.
- Receiving and dealing with data protection subject access requests.
- Requests from law enforcement
- Perform Privacy Impact Assessments on systems and processes as needed, identify privacy risks, recommend remedial action and follow up to conclusion
- Form part of the data breach response team providing guidance and support in order to meet breach notification requirements
- Support EAG on its journey to achieve higher levels of compliance with global data protection laws, and in particular GDPR
- Plan and develop procedures to ensure that EAG meets its accountability requirements under GDPR
- Develop and manage network of data protection departmental champions (focals)
- Develop and deliver training (face to face and online)
- Coordinate the group Article 30 register making sure it remains up to date
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Implement and manage the Function/Department strategy to ensure alignment with Etihad’s strategy
- Policies and Procedures
- Implement and manage relevant policies, processes and procedures and monitor adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
- People development
- Manage the effective achievement of objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff in order to maximize performance of line reports
- Safety, Quality and Environment
- Comply with all relevant safety, security, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- University degree. Preferably in Law, or other relevant field, or relevant professional qualification
- Qualified lawyer counsel
- Post holder must have at least 5-8 years’ experience in a data protection role for a company or organization
- Professional privacy qualification (e.g. CIPP/E or CIPM)
- Excellent knowledge of EU data protection law (including GDPR)
