Working as part of a rapidly expanding development team, the ideal candidate will be highly motivated, excited by great design, able to collaborate with digital designers and keen to liaise with the whole team on ideas, solutions and best practices.

Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, and support development and production of highly available, highly scalable, new and existing systems, products, features, API’s, and microservices
- Write modular, secure, efficient, extensible, self-explanatory code while actively engaging in peer code reviews and adhering to universal coding best practices
- Refactor code as necessary. Continuously assess and identify system performance and security optimisation opportunities
- Keep up to date with the evolution of applicable PHP and JS frameworks to support new features and refactor legacy elements
- Efficiently integrate with third-party API’s and systems as needed
- Serve as a point of escalation and troubleshooting for all technical related issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and support quality assurance testing efforts
- Investigate new technologies and recommend ones applicable and in line with technical and business strategy. Monitor technology lifecycles to identify and assess potential system upgrades
- Other development related tasks and projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Expert-level object oriented PHP programming and strong working knowledge of at least one popular MVC framework (Yii, Laravel, Symfony, Zend, CodeIgniter)
- Working design and development knowledge in both relational and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, MySQL)
- Strong proficiency in jQuery, Javascript, HTML5
- Strong API Development skills
- Prior exposure to Continuous Integration environments
- Experience in common third-party APIs including mapping API’s
- Experience working with AWS or other cloud computing platforms (DigitalOcean, Linode)
- A good grasp of design patterns, TDD, SOLID & Clean code principles
- Experience in hybrid app development
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail
- A logical, analytical and creative approach to problems
- The ability to work both in a team and alone and to manage your own workload
- A strong desire and ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly
- A keen and constant awareness of current issues affecting the industry and its technologies
