The team's responsibilities include mining social data for customers and using it to bootstrap personalization and recommendations; utilizing the connections to offer a better shopping experience; and build tools and applications to represent Amazon in conversations offsite in order to engage with customers and drive more to the site.

Role Description
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned quality leader with proven skills in building a top notch test team, a hands-on manager with experience in defining processes and solutions for releasing high quality software in a fast paced environment, experience in various automation tools and frameworks, well versed with software development and release cycle and is able to communicate effectively with teams across the continents. You will be obsessed with quality improvement, experienced and highly committed to creating reliable automation for regression and feature testing, able to develop and drive a high-level strategy, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy.
Responsibilities include understanding how features work, developing QA approaches that fit the overall strategy, overseeing the execution of test plans, and monitoring the progress of testing. As the software QA manager, you will own end-to-end software quality for functional and non-functional testing, you make great hires and excel in developing talents to senior leaders, you enjoy leading high-level strategy for the team while having the ability to roll up sleeves and help hands-on tasks if needed. You are experienced in building an organization that can scale from its current size and coordinate simultaneous QA efforts across geo-location teams, as well as innovating on mechanisms that enable the team and product to be force multiplier.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- About 8+ years of overall experience and at least 2+ years in a QA Manager role.
- Strong people management skills with a proven track record in hiring, developing and retaining high performing QA team consisting of QAEs and SDETs
- Strong QA background with experience in identifying and reviewing test plans, test cases and testing results.
- Proven track record in identifying and implementing automated testing tools and frameworks.
- Strong project management skills, preferably with experience in an agile development environment.
- Excellent quality and release management skills
- Work with geographically distributed QA, business and development teams.
- Solid track record for delivery of high quality products.
- Experience in preparing quality metrics and effectively engaging with stake holders to set and drive quality goals.
- Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements.
- Strong organizational skills, able to track multiple test executions simultaneously and are able to synthesize the results.
- Shows creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness.
- Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings.
- Experience in testing web technologies, services, and physical devices. Understanding of Java technologies, XML, JS, CSS, and HTML.
- Experience in Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
- Ability to write quality code in at least one high level language like Java, C, C# etc.
