Description
The Business Entity - The Routing and Optical Software Group within the Core Software Group, has the charter for all Software Development functions across all Service Provider Routing and Optical platforms. The hiring team has one of the largest charters – completely owning the many high density core routing platforms.
The Team - Working in this group, you will have the opportunity to Architect, Design, Develop and Test, some of the world’s largest Service Provider Routers, that are continuously evolving towards enabling the support of newer and exciting customer business paradigms. You will be interacting and working closely with some of the finest talent pool in the industry – where you will find that work is both fun and challenging.
Role and Responsibility -
If Prior Experience Exists, Working Knowledge In Any Of The Following Feature Areas
L3 and L2 Features: QoS, TCAM management, Lawful Intercept, Netflow, ACL, Video Monitoring, ABF, Ethernet, PoS etc.
Media: Sonet/ATM/GigE/Channelized PLIMs
Platform Infrastructure: Fabric/Shelf Management, Environment Monitor, Ethernet Controller, etc, support both x86 and PowerPC Route Processor.
IP Routing & Forwarding: IPv4, IPv6, L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS, Routing Protocols, MPLS signalling, RSVP-TE, FRR etc.
Team: Part of the Core Routing Business Unit (CRBU). It's a new team in Bangalore being formed from scratch with positions open in development, test and management in all the technology areas of the platform
Software Engineer For Development
==============================
Contribute to design and write functional and design specs. Write high-quality and performance sensitive code to be used in a 24x7, always up environment. Write unit, integration, test plans. Debug problems at the system level. Experience needed in router system infrastructure, platform driver development in Microcode, TCAM and L2/L3 forwarding, MPLS/VPN, QoS, ATM, POS, GigE technology areas.
Over Time, Build Technical Skills In The Following Areas
Good Understanding in IP Routing, Forwarding & MPLS Protocols/Technology
L2-L3 Apps (L2 protocols such as HDLC, PPP, ARP, HSRP/VRRP, CDP)
– Experience in Networking technologies, protocols and/or infrastructure (please see some details below)
– Ability to debug complicated system-level issues.
– Exposure to product life cycle and tools
– Customer experience: Reproduction and debugging of customer issues, handling of field queries
Soft-skills
– Excellent verbal/written communication skills, Teamwork and interpersonal skills
– Interact with various functions and teams of the product, including marketing, QA, H/W, A/C teams etc.
Typically requires MS/Mtech or BE combined with 1 to 2 years of related experience.
