Opening for Analyst with Control Risks

Job description

Control Risks is recruiting a North Africa analyst based in Dubai. Job responsibilities will include: delivering in-depth bespoke consulting reports and briefings to clients; providing expert comment to the media; participating in conferences and other events; travel within the region and close collaboration with our regional, as well as with our other offices worldwide and other service lines.

Tasks and Responsibilities
     
Expanding and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of North Africa through open source and social media; attendance at seminars and industry events; and research trips.
Identifying, growing and effectively managing a wide network of local and regional contacts to utilise as sources and subcontractors.

Online and retainer services:

  • Taking ownership and responsibility for our analysis and coverage for North Africa.
  • Leading on or contributing to our analysis for Control Risks’ Country Risk Forecast (CRF) and PRIME subscription products.
  • Leading on or contributing to responses to client queries about the countries of responsibility and, where relevant, other countries in the region.

Consulting reports and projects:

  • Leading on or contributing to consulting projects on countries of coverage by producing bespoke written reports, briefings and workshops, assessing political, security and operational risks facing client interests.
  • Undertaking regular deployments to conduct research and analysis for bespoke client projects, often in conjunction with other members of the GRA department.
  • Contributing to the development of compelling client deliverables making use of innovative presentation formats, graphics and methodologies.
  • Helping to win client work by contributing to proposals for work in the region, in consultation with the GRA MENA department, other service lines and Control Risks’ client management team.
  • Marketing and business development:
  • Contributing to promotional activities, press releases and sales initiatives; representing Control Risks at relevant conferences and seminars; undertaking media work in conjunction with Marketing.
  • Participating in client meetings; identifying business opportunities in the region and further afield for the company.

Networking and sources:

  • Developing and maintaining government, academic, journalistic and business contacts in the region.
  • Identifying organisations or companies that can expand the depth and range of services Control Risks provides to its clients.
  • Liaising regularly with Control Risks’ regional offices.
  • Sharing and obtaining information from Control Risks security consultants deployed on assignments in portfolio countries
