Brand Building/Drive Market Share
- Ensures that brand image and position are properly maintained in people and materials, in accordance with global standards.
- Raises briefs to media agency and reviews agency plans for the brand with the brand manager.
- Ensure brand image is maintained in accordance with corporate standards through regular reviews with SEMs on field visits. Field visits to be conducted monthly and logged.
- Evaluate and share findings on market trends (customers, prices, products and competition) with Brand Manager to identify market-specific needs in terms of product, promotions, and creative concepts, especially when they deviate from global guidelines and offerings.
- Adjust strategy based on OCD.
- Ensures that websites and social media activities are up to date and locally relevant
- Works closely with PR team to ensure that PR activities support brand building and drive reputation
- Oversees the digital revolution within the brand
- Accountable for locally relevant 360 launch plan
- Oversees management of grey market through purchasing and logging findings
- Ensures that all activities rolled out are in line with brand positioning
Financial
- Manage the marketing P&L and ensure that monthly meetings happen with the business management team.
- Forecast for new products and promotional materials
- Ensure close liaison with the Forecasting Manager group to control inventory through the accurate forecasting of both saleable and non-saleable lines to budget. Recommends plans to reduce excess inventory levels. E.g. optimize inventory between A/B/C categories.
- Review retail performance through trade marketing of retail events and initiatives and through the use of microstrategy and brand meetings.
- Work with business managers to understand COGS and other key measures
- Manages with business management team regular reviews of pricing and maintains strategy and actions for this.
- Lead new product launches, supervise promotional business including special events.
- Ensure, coordinate, and follow up on field execution. Conducts post launch evaluation analysis of major programs and ROIC.
Customers
- Liaise with Regional Marketing and local teams to ensure most cost effective tools (products, samples, support elements) are created for MEI - both for new product programs and existing product program support.
- Builds relationships with business partners and key customers, follows up on promotion efforts, keeps informed on sales force needs and assists sales management as necessary to ensure all programmes are implemented to their best advantage.
- Regularly connects with consumers, actively seeks insights and data that could inform his/her choices/decisions, eg: focus group and surveys and informally
- Seeks to understand the core consumer’s motivations
- Works with consumer communications to understand feedback gathered
Strategy Insights and Solutions
- Manage locally relevant brand marketing strategy.
- Responsible for developing regional marketing calendar and programs, adapting global marketing calendar to meet regional/market needs, develop and guide execution regional/market applied marketing strategies to maximize sales, profitability and market share.
- Responsible for presenting marketing & promotion plan to distributors, retail partners and ensure proper implementation.
- Accountable to develop regional operational marketing activities in partnership with Brand Managers. These include: media planning, Trade Marketing, launch mix, promotional activities, A&P allocation, price positioning, events and training.
- Identify, quantify and propose opportunities that drive regional/local relevance. Work in partnership with global/regional marketing and product development to evaluate and propose pursuit.
- Manage category reviews and review market trends, to identify opportunities or threats.
- Actively participates in cross brand marketing meetings to share ideas and challenges.
- Work closely with the PR team in order to ensure effective utilization of PR budgets in line with the brand strategy
- Works with digital to understand online activity and possibilities and builds this into the marketing strategy

Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 – 7 years of progressive experience in Marketing in a retail/cosmetic/luxury goods or FMCG arena
- Marketing Degree of Equivalent
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Analytical skills
- Leadership: Ability to lead a cross-functional team and interface with international markets. Previous strategic accountability in marketing.
- Very strong in excel, PowerPoint, word etc; exposure to internal ELC systems a plus
