Verinon Technology Solutions Ltd. has an opening for a Systems Administrator (Ref# SA92SV) to work in Arlington Heights, IL and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. Job Duties: Responsible for systems installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, and support of various software products and applications, including web and client server applications. Install and create scripts to support failover of applications. Build new production servers which are migrated to live production servers. Monitor and tune systems to ensure optimum level of performance. Approve, schedule, and plan the installation of new products and improvements to computer systems. Build the environment from scratch involving all third-party software installation until the application is successfully pointed to production, tested, and go-live. Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere Application Server. Install server-client SSL certificates in applications. Perform backups, memory management, patch administration, documentation, and disaster recovery processes. Responsible for planning, backup, and upgrades of all server software, client software, and drivers. Implement scheduled production changes across applications. Support operating system (OS) upgrade activities. Provide recommendations and solutions to known critical issues. Troubleshoot various problems in different stages of development. Provide on-call support, monitoring, and maintaining multiple applications in the development and QA phases. Document new procedures and maintain them for reference moving forward. Work with support specialists on issue resolution and root cause of major issues. Use of WebSphere Application Server, IBM HTTP Server, Apache HTTP Server, WebSphere MQ, ANT, Shell Scripts, Tivoli, Wily Introscope, Java, JavaScript, SQL Server, Oracle, TOAD, HP Quality Center, HP-UX, Linux, and Windows. Travel and/or relocation required.
Requirements: This position requires a Master's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, CIS, MIS, or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Systems Engineer, Systems Analyst, Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert, or related experience. Will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five years progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience. Prior experience with system administration activities and WebSphere Application Server required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week, 8:00AM – 5:00PM.
